Britney Spears’ Twitter Gets Hacked (We Think … Hope?)

Somebody posing as the comeback star of 2008 just posted the following:

HI Yall! Brit Brit here, just wanted to update you all on the size of my vagina. Its about 4 feet wide with razor sharp teeth.

A few things could have happened here: Britney Spears could have become a fan of dark 2007 indie film Teeth; Spears may be having a chuckle (she loves to laugh, y’all!); or someone may have hacked into her Twitter feed.

China has launched a crackdown on websites as the country enters a politically sensitive year, with officials accusing search engines including Baidu and Google of spreading pornography and vulgarity.

A report on an official news website (www.china.com.cn) said repeated violators and those that had a "malign influence" might be exposed, punished or shut down.

Sources: YouTube, not Warner Music, pulled videos

Warner Music Group has been saying since Saturday that it was the one who asked that the label's videos be removed from YouTube after talks to renegotiate its licensing deal with Google's video site stalled.

That's not what happened, say two high-level sources with knowledge of the negotiations.

YouTube began removing videos from its site after Warner came to YouTube with an "11th-hour demand" for better financial terms, according to the sources.

...Good news for Project Playlist: Sony BMG strikes deal

Project Playlist has struck a deal with Sony BMG to bring the label's catalog to its streaming-music service. It's the first major-label deal for Project Playlist, which recently brought former Facebook exec Owen Van Natta on as CEO but has been dealing with legal problems that have seen its widgets banned from social network MySpace.

MySpace Bans Project Playlist, Facebook Defies Same RIAA Request

In the world of online music, 2008 has been the year of the playlist sharing sites, but sadly it’s also been the year of the playlist sites being shut down. The latest victim is Project Playlist, which was recently banned from MySpace.

Project Playlist is an online mixtape sharing site similar to the recently shut down Mixwit and the long-gone Muxtape, but slightly different in that much of the focus is on sharing playlists through social networks like MySpace and Facebook.

Warner Music Group Pulls Videos From YouTube As Talks Break Down

Warner Music Group pulled all of its music videos and related content off YouTube this weekend as negotiations between the label and the video site hit a stand still. WMG was one of the first of the majors to align itself with YouTube. “We are working actively to find a resolution with YouTube that would enable the return of our artists’ content to the site,” the label says in a statement.
