1.     In Memory of Les Paul

- Terribly sad and heartbreaking has also made this week's list. Les Paul has passed away . After countless contributions to the music industry the legend died Thursday. He was 94. Les Paul guitars are a staple in the music industry and I have no doubt they will continue to be. He is being honored and remembered by countless musicians and fans. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the hand made models sky rocket in price.

2.     The Week of The Ailing Rock Stars

- Rock stars have been getting sick and dropping like flies this week. Depeche Mode has cancelled another gig due to illness.

- Placebo frontman Molko collapsed on stage at a gig in Japan and he wasn't the only one.

- Probably the most inspiring, yet probably stupid, story of illness is Jet' s Nic Cester collapsed on stage and was rushed to the hospital as well... yet the next night, instead of cancelling the show, played anyway . He returned to the stage to play a set and not disappoint his fans, which is inspiring, the fact that he need to have an ambulance on stand by because he was that sick makes it stupid as well.

-The final rock star illness report comes from a familiar friend named swine flu. Kasabian was actually quarantined in Australia after front man Tom Meighan was diagnosed with swine flu.

- An honorary mention, though not illness technically has to do with Aerosmith . If you hadn't heard, Steven Tyler fell off the stage this week at a show. In doing so, the 61 year old, broke his shoulder and ended up with 21 stitches in his head. Unlike Jet, Aerosmith decided it best to cancel the rest of the ENTIRE TOUR.

3.     New Digital Album Format, Sounds Like It Rocks

- Here's a little interesting article about the major labels finally getting just a little bit of sense knocked into them. It looks like digital albums will be hosting a new format , temporarily titled CMX. The new digital format will include not just the songs, but also lyrics, videos, liner notes, artwork, and in some cases even ringtones. Finally a digital album with value.

4.     Neal Young Named MusiCares Person on The Year

- Huge props to Neil Young for being honored by MusiCares. The singer songwriter has been awarded the title of Person of The Year by the organization for his philanthropic ways. Whether or not you like his music, he deserves a tip of the hat for that.

5.      C-Murder Stands For Convicted (for) Murder

- Rapper C-Murder has lived up to his name and been convicted of second degree murder . The former No Limit rapper and brother to Master P, now faces a mandatory life sentence . I don't foresee any road to redemption for him. On a side note Lil Wayne also recently appeared in court for his hearing on weapons charges.

6.     MTV Times Square Studio To Be Vacated

- MTV has decided not to renew its lease on the famous TRL Times Square studio. The MTV offices will remain in Times Square but the studio will be vacated. Be sure to watch for some emotional episodes of Carson Daly's late night show.

7.     Supergroup Releases Some Snippets of Songs

- Them Crooked Vultures (Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, and Queens of the Stoneage supergroup) have posted material online . Only snippets of music it seems, but let's see if they can fill the incredibly small and horrid shoes of Tinted Windows and bring hope back to supergroups.
