You, Me, and Everyone We Know- So Young, So Insane EP
6/10
Not an extreme change in style but a change indeed from last time we have heard from these guys. Interesting how this is the second Free EP I am reviewing today. After a lineup change one would expect an unfortunately a loss of loyalty. I have a feeling that some fans may be deterred from this release due to the change so releasing it for free was a solid idea.
The album open with a strong track "I Can Get Back Up Now" but unfortunately I felt as though it failed to hold it's uniqueness all the way through and the majority of the content seemed to blend throughout the middle of the record. The last track perhaps offers some salvation which is entitled "Happy Birthday".
Overall the Ep is pretty general pop punk, which I feel is less than what the hype will tell you. Regardless of that however, it is well written and well enough produced that I see no reason not to occasionally give it a spin for a fun atmosphere. Also i give endless props to musicians who give away music for FREE, it shows they have yet to lose site of the purpose of music. I think this is definitely a band to keep watching, and I'm excited to see what they can produce when/if they go for a full length. I'd say I have faith in these guys, however I'm not generalyl a pop punk fan so feel free to share your thoughts.
