Graham Wright- Lakes of Alberta review

8/10

Last year Graham Wright of Tokyo Police Club had promised to release his solo EP before the end of 2008 and he has now done so. This short EP is a heartwarming mix of soft acoustic music. I've never been a follower of Tokyo Police Club but after seeing that this release was made available for free I decided to give it an honorable chance.

I'm suprised to say that the EP is far from what I expected but most certainly for the better. The songs "The Lakes of Alberta" part I and part II i found specifically impressive. Slow soft acoustic finger picking tracks but with a genuine taste. The rest of the songs move a bit quicker but are indeed impressive, including anothe rfinger picking song entitlted "When I Get There" which is a guitar style that I take an interest into.

A simple album indeed but worth the two minutes it takes to download. A short review for a short album.
